Anderson
Repeater Club, Inc.
November, 2009
The regular meeting will be Tuesday, November 3, at 7:00 PM at the EOC Training Room. Please plan to attend.
One item of business for this meeting is opening of Nominations for officers for 2010. Our usual practice is to open the nominations at this meeting and leave them
open until the January meeting when we actually elect the officers for next year. Feel free to nominate whoever you would like to lead the Club next year.
Additionally, if you would like to be an officer make your interest known. We’re always looking for new blood in the leadership ranks. Our current (2009)
slate of Officers is: President-Mike, KC9AOM, Vice-President-Doug, KB9DXO, Secretary-Steve, WA9CWE, Treasurer-Tim, KB9VE, Trustee-Tom, KA9SYP, Trustee-Tim,
KB9VE, Technical Committee-Tom, W9EEL, Phil, WB9URL, Guido, WB9ZJR.
2010 will be our 41st year as a Club. This is quite an achievement. As a bit of trivia, we have two members who were Charter members and have been a
member every year; WA9CWE(40) and K9TZJ(40). Additionally, the following have been members for 35 years or longer; W9EEL(37), K9IND(35), WA9STB(39),
KB9WI(35), WA9ZIC(35). An additional note, we have 38 paid members for 2009. Thanks to each and every one of you who provide the funding to keep the
Club going.
We are accepting Dues contributions at any time. As a reminder, your $20.00 yearly contribution pays for the telephone line used as the control for the
repeater, our dues to the Indiana Repeater Council and the Indiana Radio Club Council, The Secretary of State yearly submittal, PO Box rental, any
contributions for Silent Keys, service work on the repeaters that we can’t do ourselves, a few stamps, minor items for the weather station and to build
a savings for major expenses should repair/replacement of a repeater or antenna be needed.
You can bring your dues to the meeting, drop it off with the Treasurer, Tim, at Anderson Automotive Color or send it to:
Anderson Repeater Club, Inc.
PO Box 615
Anderson, IN 46015
We also have the opportunity to award an Anderson Repeater Club “Ham-OF-The-Year”. This award is presented to a member who has offered exceptional
contribution to our Club and the hobby. The plaque states: “In recognition of outstanding achievement of the Anderson area amateur who distinguishes
himself in public service, friendship, technological and other ideals of Amateur Radio”. In our 40 years we’ve awarded this only 15 times. If you feel
that someone meets the criteria contact the President confidentially and offer your nomination. If enough members nominate an individual the President
will make the award and that person will have his name engraved on the plaque hanging on the wall.
73 and hope to see you on Tuesday.
Secretary, Steve, WA9CWE
