Repeater Club, Inc.

September, 2013

The September meeting of the Club is as regularly scheduled on Tuesday, September 3, 7:00 PM at the EOC Training Room. We have an interesting presentation scheduled. Tim, KB9VE, will be presenting to us information on weather stations, how the Club supported weather station works, and the available weather stations for home use. Come out to learn all about them.

Club activities have been pretty minimal thru the summer. Additionally, the use of the repeaters have been down too. Please monitor as often as you can and respond to calls or call yourself to generate some activity. Weíve even been blessed with very good weather this year, so there have been minimal StormNet alerts. Itís hard to show our preparedness and community support when there is nothing happening.

Iím still holding some of the 2013 Membership certificates. Iíve been trying to pass them out at the various meetings when I see you, but several of our members have been unable to attend. Iíll send them out via ďsnail mailĒ soon.

Our VE Testing sessions continue to be productive. We continue to bring new people into the ranks of Ham Radio, and welcome and encourage their interest. Our usual VE team is Paul, KC9BKZ, Alan, KC9JWO, Charlie, K9TZJ, Steve, WA9CWE, and Al, WB9AL. We are offering the VE Testing the third Wednesday of each month at the Anderson Fire Department Training Center on South MLK. We are usually there by about 6:45, so if you have an interest in upgrading take advantage of this opportunity. It costs $15 (all goes to the ARRL VEC) and you need two IDís (one with a picture).

At the July meeting we met Lou Everett, the Indiana Section Manager for the ARRL and his wife, Doreen, the Section Club Activity Coordinator. In the last Section Newsletter he included some pictures from the meeting and complemented the Club. If you missed the meeting you missed some interesting information.

I hope to see you on Tuesday.
Steve, WA9CWE
