| Anderson Repeater Club, Inc. January, 2007 Our next meeting is Tuesday, January 3, at 7:00 PM in the EOC Training Room. Please plan to attend. Our main order of business is the election of officers for 2007. Also if you have any new equipment to demonstrate be sure to bring it along. Dues are due at any time. You can bring them to the meeting, or send them to the Club mailbox: Anderson Repeater Club, Inc. PO Box 615 Anderson, IN 46015 Dues are still $20.00. We’ve received dues from 10 members so far. As we start 2007 I note that this is the 38th year of our club. We seem to be stuck at 35 to 40 members. Fortunately those dues meet our requirements and still allow for a bit of treasury growth to provide for special projects as they come up. We’d welcome new members at any time. We’ll be electing officers for 2007 at the January meeting. So far the current slate of Officers are the only nominees. Those nominated are: P – KB9DXO, VP – KC9AOM, S – WA9CWE, T – KB9VE, Trustees – KA9SYP, KB9VE, Tech Committee – W9EEL, WB9URL, WB9ZJR. If anyone is interested in being an Officer feel free to volunteer. We’re always anxious to have new blood in the leadership. I’m personally sorry to have to report that Paul Bohrer, W9DUU, of Indianapolis is now a Silent Key. Paul has been a very active and influential ham in Indiana for many years. Paul helped many of us when we were establishing our repeater here in Anderson and in getting our radios operational back in the late 60’s and early 70’s. Paul was also the key player in Amateur Television “ATV” in Indiana. He became a leader in “Fox Hunting” and conducted the hidden transmitter hunts at the Indy Hamfest thru the years. Paul was a personal friend of many of us in the Club and we’ll miss him. I also note that Lance Pratt, KB9CVO, of Anderson is a Silent Key also. Lance was a member of our Club in 1998, and in later years was very active on the low bands rather than local communications. As you will read in the Minutes of the last meeting the Club purchased the Weather Station equipment that is going in the City Building in Elwood. This purchase, $1600, is being re-imbursed by the County EMA. The invoice has been submitted, and we expect to receive the check after the first of the year. There is a lot going on the EMA level. We are getting new computers installed in the EOC, and have computer projectors being permanently mounted in the Training Room, ECC and Situation Room. This will help a great deal in our meeting presentations. See you on Tuesday. 73, Steve, WA9CWE, Secretary, ARC |
