The meeting was called to order at 1900 by the President, Doug, KB9DXO. A quick review of those present indicated that all were regular attendees.
The first order of business was to open the floor for nominations for Officers for 2008. Doug reported that the current slate of Officers were nominated at the last meeting. A motion was made by Dave, KE9XF, that the nominations be closed and that the current officers be re-elected. Seconded by KB9SCC. By voice vote all were in favor and the officers were re-elected as follows: President, Doug Townsend, KB9DXO, Vice-President, Mike Dewey, KC9AOM, Secretary, Steve Riley, WA9CWE, Treasurer, Tim Galbraith, KB9VE, Trustees, Tom Ecker, KA9SYP and Tim Galbraith, KB9VE, Technical Committee Tom Harbron, W9EEL, Phil Miller, WB9URL, Guido Politano, WB9ZJR. Doug thanked the membership for the continued support and the other officers for their good work.

.82 Repeater Report – WA9CWE - No issues. Working OK.
UHF Repeater Report – WA9CWE - No issues. Still at the same location.
.09 Repeater Report – KB9VE - It is working OK
IRLP Report – KB9VE – It is working fine at present. When band conditions improve in the spring we’ll have an issue, but for now it’s OK. The software developed by Matt continues to be solid, but should it fail Tim will be able to return it to a basic configuration only.
Weather Station – KB9VE – Functioning fine. He had to replace the battery in the Road Temperature transmitter. The transmitter has failed in the soil moisture/temperature monitor. Again if the software should fail Tim will be able to bring it back to a basic configuration only. There are still issues with the router at the EOC.
Club Web Page – KB9VE - It isn’t responding at all. We’d all like to have the web site at least functioning as a basic site since we refer to it on the repeater ID’s. Tim’s not able to fix it. Paul, KC9BKZ, has some experience with web sites and volunteered to rebuild it in a manner similar to those that he maintains. He and Tim will get together after the meeting to arrange it, and the Secretary will submit information to put on the site.
EMA Report – WA9CWE – The first purchase of equipment has been received. A new purchase is being prepared for the next lot of equipment. The MCU was called out on Jan 1 for a run to Elwood. A State RACES Test is scheduled for Jan. 19, and the MCARC guys will be manning the HF equipment to check in on the low bands. The Stormnet Training is scheduled for Tuesday, March 11 at the Anderson Public Library. SKYWARN Training is scheduled in Yorktown on Saturday, February 9, at 1PM sponsored by the Delaware Co. ARES unit.
The Secretary announced that with the dues received tonight there are 21 paid members for 2008.
Dick, WA9STB, reported that for the Madison County ARC he is President, Kevin, KB9NTH is Sec/Treas. for 2008. They have worked on the 145.39 repeater replacing some coax and the power output has improved to 20 watts out of the duplexer. He’s looking for signal reports to confirm that countywide coverage is accomplished. Dave, KB9NTG, reported that the Club is NO LONGER going to have tables at the Fort Wayne Hamfest in 2008. It has gotten to be too much work for the same few members and it’s a money loosing situation for the club.
Old Business – None.
New Business – None.
Paul, KC9BKZ, reported that the Extra Class question pool changes on July 1,
2008. They have been the same since 2002, and he expects that the new pool will be more “technical” than the old pool as was the General Class upgraded pool of questions. The Chief Anderson Club continues to plan on monthly testing sessions the 3rd or 4th Wednesday of each month. The schedule will be on the ARRL web site soon. The last two months have been very good with 7 and 8 taking the tests.
The door prize was won by Tim, KB9VE.
The meeting was adjourned at 1930. There were 13 members present.
Steve Riley, WA9CWE
