UHF Repeater – All is well. No issues reported.

.09 Repeater Report – No issues. There was a lot of activity on the IRLP as the new years approached. Several members listened in .

Web Site & Weather Station – Tom, W9EEL, reported that Matt had looked at the rain collection gage as a result of the reports being low. He cleaned it, but found no problems. Since that time it seems to be reading more accurately. There is a bug in the history software that Matt is working on.

EMA Report – Steve reported that there are new computers throughout the EOC/ECC, new laptops have been provided for MCPD and the FD’s, projectors are being mounted in the ECC and one will go to the MCU. Incident Command training continues to be important, and FD’s are required to have a plan implemented to get continued grant funding. We discussed NIMS and IC briefly. Anderson nearly ready to go on UHF system. We have received licensing for the new commercial repeaters and we’ll have them on the air next week.

Warning & Weather – As Tom had predicted earlier, the winter has been mild up to now. Everyone is happy about that.

They plan on hands-on instruction and operations on low bands. VE testing by the Chief Anderson Club is either the 3rd or 4th Saturday of each month as reported by Charlie. The MCARC Tailgate Party is Saturday, August 11 at Lectro. Stormnet Training is Tuesday, March 13, and 7PM at the Anderson Library.

Technical Session – Charlie, K9TZJ, noticed in the last issue of QST an article about building a crystal set radio. He built it and passed around the unit. It receives WHBU & WGNR on the broadcast band. Charlie talked about the difference in reception with a vertical and a horizontal antenna. He enjoyed the project and recommends it.

Steve noted that Bill, N9XXU, is looking for help on the new Uniden scanner programming.

The door prize was won by Dick, WA9STB. (Doug, our President, has done an excellent job of providing quality door prizes. Dick got a $20 gift card, and as he noted it covers his dues for this year)
